Message from Chen Rong, CEO of CITS Limited, Head Office

Since its establishment in 1954, the China International Travel Service Limited, Head Office has developed into a large enterprise group integrating travel service, transportation, foreign trade, real estate development and management, and e-commerce, with a total asset of 5 billion yuan. It has hosted more than 9 million tourists who come from all parts of the world. It is China's largest travel service group and is the only tourist enterprise among the country's top 500 enterprises. It's acronym CITS has become a well-known brand name both at home and abroad.

In March, 2004, In order to enhance comprehensive strength and competitive edge in the international market, CITS Head Office and China Duty-free Group, the two giants, joined hands in reorganization to set up the CITS Group Corporation, with the approval of the State Council.

A half century of experience is greatly to our credit, yet we feel all the more a sense of responsibility on our shoulders. Following China's WTO accession, its tourist enterprises are confronted with wider and more severe competition. In the spirit of "honesty first, service supreme, going all out to strive for the best", we are determined to blaze new trails, keep forging ahead and make new progress.

China is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It is also a rising tourist source country. As an envoy, CITS assumes a great mission, which si to let friends overseas see a fantastic China and let Chinese tourists experience a rich and colorful world. As the saying goes, "A bosom friend afar brings a distant land near." The Internet has initiated a new way of exchanges, which can not only reduce the difference between regions, but also shorten the distance between people. I sincerely hope that this platform will help increase mutual understanding, promote exchanges and enhance cooperation. Let us work together to bring about a bright future and make new contributions to China and world tourism.
